This tutorial describes how you can search for locations and businesses within Google
Earth. You will learn to find these places in Italy and view them in Google Earth.

Locating an Address in Rome
Let's try locating an address in Italy. Specifically, we will find the United States
Embassy in Rome using its address. To do this:
In the Search panel (see diagram below), enter the following address:
Via Vittorio Veneto, 119, 00187 Roma, Italy
Click the Search button . Google Earth displays search results in the
Search panel and the 3D viewer flies to this address in Rome.
You can clear the search results and start over by clicking the Clear
button below the
search results.

Search for a Business in Rome
Now we will look for a restaurant near the United States Embassy in Rome that you located
previously (see above). To do this:
If you have not done so, locate the United States Embassy in Rome as described in
the previous exercise.
Click the Find Businesses tab (see diagram below).
In the What field, enter the following text:
restaurant
In the Where field, be sure the selection is "Current
view". This ensures that the search results are locations that are close to the
United States Embassy (the current view).
Click the Search button . Google Earth displays a list of matching business
listings and the 3D viewer pans out to include a view of all these locations.
In the Search results in the Places panel, double click the first entry. Google Earth
zooms to this business location.
