Data and Imagery: Blurry imagery

Print

This article explains that you might see blurry imagery if:

  • The imagery has not streamed completely.
  • We do not have high-resolution imagery for that area.

If imagery in Google Earth seems blurry, check the Streaming indicator. It appears at the bottom of your Google Earth image, and lets you know whether all available data has been downloaded. If the Streaming indicator is at 100%, and the image still appears blurry, it's likely that we don't currently provide high-resolution data for this location. We're also aware that the imagery for some areas may contain cloud coverage or discoloration, so might appear blurry even at high resolution.

You can report this imagery to us at our database report page.

We add data to our Primary Database on a regular basis. Each month we highlight the newest additions to Google Earth content and news. If you haven't subscribed to The Sightseer, check the Google Earth Community forum for previous editions.
