The Google Earth developer channel provides early access to a pre-release version of the Google Earth plugin. Updates to this channel will typically be pushed out 1-2 weeks in advance of the public release. This channel is intended for developers who are comfortable using a beta quality product to test out existing sites for compatibility, or to preview new features that are not yet available to the general public.
In order to gain access to the new API features, you must ensure you load the 1.x version of the Google Earth API, using the following syntax: google.load('earth', '1.x').
This developer channel will be updated with the final public version at the same time as the public version. If at any time you wish to switch to the public channel, you will need to delete the developer Google Earth plugin before reinstalling the public one.
