Maps & Earth Grants for Non-profits

Google Earth Outreach supports non-profit organisations that share our mission of community service in areas such as education & culture, environment & science, current affairs, global development, public health and social services. Eligible non-profits can apply for a grant of Google Earth Pro.

Who is eligible

In Canada - Organizations must be registered under the Canada Income Tax Act, able to issue charitable receipts to donors, and are exempt from income tax in order to be considered for this program. Your organization must be listed in the Canadian Revenue Agency Charity Listing .

OR

Organizations representing First Nations, Inuit, Metis and non-status Indian communities, incorporated under Part II of the Canada Corporations Act or under corresponding provincial or territorial legislation.

OR

Members of First Nations, Metis, non-status Indian or Inuit groups who can provide a letter that both describes how their planned work will benefit an Aboriginal community in Canada and demonstrates support for their planned work from that community. Letters demonstrating support from community leaders are encouraged.

"


Other countries/regions - We are currently accepting applications from eligible charitable organizations based in the African Continent, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States.

Who is not eligible

At this time, we're unable to make grants to the following types of groups:

  • Organisations that are of a religious or political nature
  • Organisations focused primarily on lobbying for political or policy change
  • Organisations that are pending or are not listed in the Canadian Revenue Agency as charitable and tax-exempt.
  • Organisations outside Canada, the African Continent, Brazil, the United States, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. We're working to support additional international non-profits in the future.

Google reserves the right to award grants to any organisation. Selections are made at Google's sole discretion and decisions regarding award recipients are final.

Google Earth Pro for Non-profits

As a part of Google Earth Outreach, we grant Google Earth Pro licenses to qualifying organisations who demonstrate a need for the advanced features of Google Earth Pro. The free version of Google Earth has most of the features that non-profits need to create Google Earth layers. Compare Products.
